AWANA program

AWANA

Sunday Nights from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

The AWANA Program teaches kids that God is real, that He loves them and that He has expressed that love through Jesus Christ. Kids also learn how God can help them in their daily lives. Kids are inspired to memorize Scripture, read their Bibles and come to church regularly all through an exciting format that is just plain FUN!! We will have two clubs for the children - Sparks and Truth & Training.

Sparks

Sparks is the Awana club for kids in kindergarten, first grade and second grade. The gospel is regularly presented at this critical stage in a child’s spiritual development.

Truth & Training

Truth & Training (T&T) is the Awana club for third through fifth grades. The T & T club features a strong focus on Scripture application, consistent presentation of the gospel, a colorful look, fun characters, and more.

The club time is divided up into three segments:

Game Time

Game time is fun and exciting and an incredible kid magnet! Through a variety of games, children learn character traits like discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Handbook Time

Children recite Bible verses from memory that they’ve learned during the week while developing their understanding of Scripture and how it applies to their lives. Kids also interact with their adult leaders as they complete their handbook sections and earn awards. The children are motivated to keep learning by the awards that they earn.

Council Time

We have extended our Awana schedule to allow us to add missions education to the club meetings. This will be an excellent time where children learn about missions around the world and how they can be a part of missions right here around us. We use the curriculum put out by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship called “Spark.”

Children earn Awana $$ as they complete sections in their handbook. They can use them to buy items from the Awana Store that will be set up in January and in May. Positive reinforcement is a great motivational tool!

Each Awana Club has a special uniform just for that club. Sparks have a vest that can be worn over any shirt, and T&Ts have a club t-shirt. Clubbers will need to wear their uniform to each club meeting.

Parent Volunteers

We ask that parents of children participating in our program volunteer as guides 1-2 times a year. They will be given the task of taking attendance and helping their group get from one rotation to the next.

Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman
who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15
