We at Southmont recognize that the responsibility for a child's spiritual growth is ultimately the responsibility of the parents. But we want to help them and you in accomplishing this daunting task. We are here to help connect them to Christ, develop them for service and engage them in God's mission.

Preschool Sunday School
Preschool Sunday School is designed to provide a safe, loving, nurturing environment for preschoolers. As the children’s needs are met, the teachers introduce the basic foundations to the Christian faith. We recognize that preschoolers learn through their play experiences, and our staff of teachers enhance those play experiences by using activities that relate to the focus of the lesson.
Children's Sunday School
Children's Sunday School is an exciting hour each week designed to help boys and girls build their relationship with God through the study of God’s Word. We have a lively, kid-friendly approach with some of the learning taking place through music and drama in large group time, and small group time that allows teachers to make application of the lesson in a smaller setting. Everything we do from games to skits to Bible stories to crafts all focus on our main point for the day to build for the children a foundation of truth that guides them in their growing relationship with God.
KidsTime
KidsTime is offered during our Worship Services for infants through Kindergarteners. Planned activities are provided to the older preschoolers to provide meaningful, age-appropriate learning times for the children. KidsTime is staffed by paid workers and volunteers who serve 3-4 Sundays a year.
Mission Friends
Mission Friends is the missions organization for boys and girls who are 3 & 4 years old. Its primary objective is to teach missions attitudes and concepts. This program uses centers for art, nature, puzzles, home living, blocks and books to help the children learn age-appropriate concepts. This year they are focusing on mission work being done in Indonesia.
AWANA Program
Kids are inspired to memorize Scripture, read their Bibles and come to church regularly all through an exciting format that is just plain FUN! We have included missions education to help the children learn about how God is at work in people and places all over the world and how they can be a part it. Sparks is the kindergarten through second grade club and Truth & Training (T&T) is the third through fifth grade club. More...
Children's Day Out & Preschool Program
Children's Day Out & Preschool purposes to create an environment that meets the children's emotional, mental, physical, social, and spiritual needs. It promotes creative teaching, social growth, self-acceptance and control, and most importantly an increased awareness of God's loving care and plan for the children all through a safe, loving environment your children will enjoy. Other Activities
We also offer a variety of other programs throughout the year to meet the needs of preschoolers and children. Each summer we offer a week-long Vacation Bible School. This is a great week of crazy games, great crafts, fun worship songs and lively Bible Stories. In the spring, we have an Easter Eggstravaganza with a train ride, booths, prizes, egg hunts and great food. In the fall, we have a Fall Festival with tons of booths, a petting zoo, a hayride, a cake walk, huge inflatable obstacle courses, and tons of food. Plus we offer Movie Nights, A Walk to Bethlehem and camps for children of all ages.
