Welcome to the Southmont web site! I trust that it will pique your interest to visit our campus and participate in one of our worship services and Bible studies. As you can see from browsing this site, there are many opportunities of service and fellowship.
Allow me to share my personal vision and desire for this great church. I see this church poised to build upon her great 30 years of service to this community and the firm foundation that has been laid. Service with excellence, in unity and diversity will provide a loving atmosphere in which people are equipped to be kingdom builders and the presence of Christ is made evident. I want us to be a “grace place” where people discover a God that loves them enough to accept them as they are but not leave them where they are. We are on a faith journey that continues to transform us. That transformation is a process and we will be the first to admit that we have not arrived.
As a follower of Christ, I boil my core values down to these four: Jesus is Lord, the Bible is God’s Word, the Great Commission is my Mandate and all People Matter to God. Unapologetically, I have been a Baptist all my life, first by birth, then by choice. But most of all, I want to be a blessing to many and a burden to none as I seek to connect people to Jesus Christ, equip them for ministry and engage them in God’s mission.
These are challenging days and I am so grateful that I am a part of a church and staff that will stand with me, encourage me and pray for me. Know that we will do the same for you and that there is room for you.
