Women's Ministry - Walk'n Roll

The Health and Fitness Team of the Women's Ministry invites all ladies to join the "Walk 'n Roll Divas"! They will be walking 2 days a week - every Tuesday and Thursday beginning June 1st. All Church Labor Day Picnic

Our second annual Southmont Family Gathering at Camp Copass is planned for Sunday, September 5 – 3:00-7:00 p.m. We will have hot dogs, chips, drinks, snow cones, miniature golf, indoor games and much more for the whole family. We will end the evening with baptism in the pool and some of our own local talent leading in worship celebration. If you are ready to be baptized and would like to participate in this part of the celebration please contact Elizabeth Colbert at 940.566.3313 ext. 290.

Special Time of Music and Praise (Children’s Choirs)BEGINS Wednesday, September 8th. Southmont has a choir for all children from three years (as of Sept 1st) through the 5th grade. The choirs meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 PM in the Children's Bldg. Contact the Church Office 940.566.3313 for more information.

Men's Monthly Breakfast

The Men’s Ministry will hold its monthly Bible study and breakfast on Saturday, September 11 in the Fellowship Hall. NOTE the date due to the holiday weekend. The Bible study will start at 7:00 AM, led by Garry Dick, followed by a free breakfast at 8:00 AM. Following breakfast, Brandon Byers, a motivational, inspirational speaker, will provide the program on “Accountability”. This subject is near and dear to every Christian man. You will hear how men need to become more accountable and seek one another in “sharpening our swords”. Please mark both events on your calendar and plan to attend.

AWANA Clubs

AWANA Clubs and Mission Friends
Sunday night activities for children will gear up on Sunday, September 12 with Mission Friends for 3-5 year olds from 5:00-6:00 pm and AWANA Clubs for K-5th graders from 5:00-7:00 pm.

First Place for Health

The Bible's Way to Weight Loss resumes on Tuesday, September 14th at 10:30 in the Ladies' Classroom. This study, sponsored by the Health and Fitness Team of the Women's Ministry, will be "God's Purpose for You". Ladies Bible Study

All ladies are invited to join a study on Dr. Stanley’s “30 Life Principles from the Bible”. The study will start on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 1:00 p.m., location TBA. Beth Moore Simulcast

Ladies - you are invited to attend a Beth Moore Living Proof Simulcast at First Baptist Church, Denton, TX on Saturday September 18th from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. Just For Parents

On Sunday nights beginning September 19 we will have an 8 week class called Parenting is Heart Work. It will offer practical, Biblical, do-able advice to parents as they maneuver this challenging road of raising godly children. It will meet in the Fellowship Hall from 5:00-7:00 PM and will include time for video instruction, discussion and fellowship. There will even be some good food and fun! Women's Bible Studies

Ladies mark your calendars for September 23rd! That's when the Ladies' Fall Bible Studies begin. The Bible Study team of the Women's Ministry offers 2 choices this term - "The Life: How to Let Christ Live His Life in and Through You" by Bill and Anabel Gillham and "Abide: Practicing Kingdom Rhythms in a Consumer Culture" by Jared C. Wilson. Times, cost and additional information are available at the registration table outside the Worship Center, or call Flo Crawford at 940.387.6736.

Basketball & Cheerleading

Upward Basketball & Cheerleading
Southmont has teamed up with FBC Corinth to form the Lake Cities Upward Basketball league. This is an excellent program for 1-6th grade boys and girls with Cheerleading for Kindergarten. Registration forms are available in the Welcome Center and at the Check-In Desk in the Children’s Building or you may register online at www.southmont.org by clicking on the Quick Link for Upward.

Revolve Conference

For Middle & High School Girls. This conference is January 21 and 22, 2011 at the Garland Special Events Center. The cost is $78. per person, which includes tickets and hotel.
